Trade School Triumph: Overcoming Obstacles for Success

WHAT WAS YOUR BACKGROUND BEFORE ATTENDING PHLEBOTOMY SCHOOL?

Before I was in phlebotomy school, I was in the welding field working in industrial factories. I worked on car parts, welding front ends, and other mechanical work as well. However, I always loved the medical field and worked towards helping people. Looking for a phlebotomy school that I liked was just my first step in making that dream come true.

HOW HAS TN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE AFFECTED YOUR CAREER PATH?

My education has impacted my life in a very positive manner. Since I’ve graduated and gotten into this job, I’ve noticed I’m not as stressed and I don’t hate coming into work. My quality of life feels overall improved.

HOW DID MIA SHARE HELP YOU ON YOUR EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY?

Mia Share helped me go to school and not have to worry about paying everything upfront because, at the time, I didn’t have the money. Nor did I have to wait until I saved the money, Mia Share gave me an opportunity to put my down payment to start my education and pay as I go. You guys gave me peace of mind. I felt like I didn’t have to second guess my decision to go back to school and get myself to where I wanted to be.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS?

I hope to be a practicing RN or LPN. If not practicing, then at least be in school for one of those professions. My long-term goal is to be a midwife, but I know that can take many years of experience, so that may be longer than five years.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR THOSE PURSUING A TRADE SCHOOL EDUCATION?

Just do it and set your mind to it. If you think you can’t do it, that more of a challenge to prove to yourself that you can. I didn’t think I would do it, but here I am in the field and loving it. Stick to it, no matter what is in your way. The result is always worth it.
